Hope this helps others who are frustrated with the audio situation with Apple MacOS 12 / Big Sur limitation in how to control your audio input/outputs. I am sure there are other solutions out there but this is the one that works in my situation. I was able to tune my output to my Sundara the way I wanted. Soundsource gave you the ability to control your audio input, output and what effects to apply. No problem to output to USB DAC and you can even customize which apps using which setup. I was able to use AUBandEQ together with Soundsource.

I stumbled over Rogue Amoeba Soundsource and installed the trial version and bingo - it works beautifully. Lots of these not supporting M1 silicon or Big Sur/MacOS 12 Monterey. Every card comes with a comprehensive list of programs and provides a good description of each sound.
